Group Therapy

Tremendous self growth can occur through the use of group therapy. In a group, an individual learns about himself/herself and simultaneously learns how to interrelate with others. Simply stated, how do you feel when Ms. X monopolizes the hour... while you're just sitting there quietly? What would prevent you from interrupting? What stops you from sharing your true feelings?

What are the groups' shared issues and/or concerns? The group, in and of itself, is a conduit for learning about your behavior. Some people are afraid of group therapy because they think it is all about confrontation and criticism. This is not true and that is why a group should have a trained facilitator. If there is confrontation, Mrs. Rubin calms and analyzes the confronter asking questions such as: "what just happened that made you feel so angry?"

Group therapy is an amazing experience.
If you want to grow, get to know yourself, and interrelate with others in a more meaningful and productive way, then group therapy is for you!
