Family Counseling

The goal of family counseling is to promote healthier relationships within the family unit. Family therapy allows the therapist to observe how members relate to one another. For example, does a family member communicate with anger, hostility, jealousy, resentment, criticism, sarcasm? Is another family member particularly sensitive and overreacting? These may be crucial issues to sort out since they can have profound effects on the entire family. Oftentimes, the family unity may feel the effects of one's alcoholism, stress and/or depression.

Although it may sound simplistic, family therapy teaches a family better ways to communicate while simultaneously helps each individual member to become more aware of his/her behavior.
