EAP Counseling

EAP is better known as Employee Assistance Program. Many corporations have contracts with various health insurance companies who hire therapists to assist employees with personal and/or work problems. Problems may range from parenting to depression to career choices and difficulties with a supervisor.

EAP visits are generally paid for by your employer. Generally speaking, an employer pays for 2-4 visits per year. It is their "gift" to you to assist you with personal problems that may be interfering with your work. It is used as a short-term assessment/evaluation.
